Patriotic Ribbon Ornaments

Celebrating our country’s independence brings with it all things red, white and blue. Red white and blue napkins. Red white and blue hats. Blueberry, strawberry and whipped cream desserts. Even if I wanted to (but of course, I don’t) I couldn’t avoid the red white and blue. This leads, inevitably to lots of red, white and blue scraps sitting around, the tail ends of other projects. Glitter, confetti and especially ribbon. This project turns those scraps into a fun and simple decoration that can be hung in a swag, added to wreaths or piled in a bowl to add just a little more hurrah! to your Fourth of July celebrations.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: Less than five minutes

Things you’ll need:
Clear acrylic fillable ornaments
Ribbon scraps and/or leftover confetti
Red Raffia Ribbon

Things to do:
1. Gather, roll or wad up enough ribbon to make a ball slightly larger than the ornament.

2. Push the materials into one side of the ornament and then add the other, snapping to close.

3. Thread the raffia through the hanger. Tie the ends together and fan out the tails of the raffia.
