Kid-Friendly Popsicle Stick and String Spider Webs

Let your spooky side show this Halloween with fun spiderwebs! These simple DIY decorations can be made from string or jute, allowing you and your kiddos to get creative with seasonal crafts.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 5 Minutes
Age range: 6 and up

Things you’ll need:
Popsicle sticks
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Scissors
String or jute

Things to do:
1. The first step is creating the base for your spider web. Use hot glue to secure two popsicle sticks in an X” shape. Glue one more down the center of the X,” creating a star pattern.

2. Tie a piece of jute in a double knot around the center of the star.

3. Flip the star over so the knot is in the back and begin weaving the string in and out of the star’s arms. Be sure to pull tightly so it doesn’t slip off.

4. Continue wrapping the jute, moving out a half-inch at a time, until the entire star is covered.

5. When the spider web is finished, apply a drop of hot glue to the back of the star and pull the end of the jute through it. Twist the jute to a 90 degree angle. Once the glue has dried, cut the jute to a 90-degree angle.

6. Once the glue has dried, cut the jute and display your spider web!
