Kid Friendly Hatching Easter Chicks Clothespins

These cute little clothespin egg clips are perfect for the Easter basket or for party favors. The foam stickers make the work of creating the chick easy. Kids will enjoy pinching the clip to see the egg open and little chick peek out at them!

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 20 minutes
Age range: 8+

Things you’ll need:
White craft foam sheet
Easter foam stickers
Wood clothespins
Scissors
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Things to do:
1. Draw an egg on the foam sheet. The egg can be any size, though it should be large enough to cover the size of the chick head you’ll add later. Warm up your hot glue gun.

2. Cut the head off one of the chick stickers in the foam sticker pack (I know, this sounds bad!). Keep the paper backing on the sticker and glue the chick’s head onto the back of the clothes pin as shown.

3. Cut the foam egg approximately in half with a jagged line, like a cracked egg. Glue one half to the top of the clothes pin, so the edge overlaps the bottom part of the clothes pin as shown.

4. Glue the other half of the egg to the bottom of the clothes pin. When your child pinches the clothes pin together, the egg will break” and the little chick will appear!
