Jersey Cardigan Embellishments

Jersey_Cardigan_Embellishments
All winter long I wear cardigans. Every day. All day. Some are thick and some are thin, most of them are plain. And while that’s fine most of the time, sometimes I wish I had one with a little something extra. This craft uses unhemmed jersey to give a boring old sweater a little oomph.

Things you’ll need:
Lightweight cardigan
Jersey fabric scraps in two colors
Scissors
Thread and needle

Things to do:
1. Decide how much of the cardigan’s edge you want to embellish. You can add to both sides, all the way along the edge or just in a concentrated spot as we have done here.
2. Cut a variety of sizes of circles out of the jersey using very sharp scissors. They don’t have to be perfect, but try to get them as close to circular as you can.

3. Layer the circles in various ways until you are satisfied with your combination.
4. Attach each pile of circles with a neat little “x” stitch, securing on the inside of the sweater and trimming all threads.
