Time to complete: 30 minutes
Age range: 6 and up *For younger kids, substitute hot glue with craft glue.
Things you’ll need:
Popsicle sticks
Hot glue gun
Hot glue sticks
Scissors
Jute
Things to do:
1. The first step is creating the bottom of the bird feeder. Use glue to attach 12 popsicle sticks side by side.
2. Next, we’re going to start building up. Use glue to attach a popsicle stick on either side of the base. These popsicle sticks should be parallel to one another. After they’re secured in place, add two more popsicle sticks parallel to each other, but on the opposite sides of the base.
3. Before you continue adding height, glue a popsicle stick to the center of the base, creating a stand for the birds.
4. Continue the pattern for building until you’ve reached your desired height. My bird feeder is nine popsicle sticks high.
5. When the glue is dry, cut four pieces of jute, all equal in length
6. Tie the ends of the four corners of the bird feeder and pull them up towards the center, knotting them so they all hang evenly.
7. Hang the bird feeder from the knot and enjoy!
