Indulge your senses with these homemade bath fizzes. Have fun experimenting with a variety of colors and scents to create the perfect, relaxing combination.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 20 Minutes *Plus 24 hour drying time
Age range: 8 and Up

Things you’ll need:
1/2 cup citric acid
1 cup baking soda
3/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup organic sugar
Flour sifter
Two bowls
Spoon
Ice cube trays
Spray bottle
Essential oils
Food coloring

Things to do:
1. Begin by combining your first three ingredients. The citric acid, baking soda, and cornstarch should be mixed well. I’ve found that it is helpful to run the ingredients through a flour sifter to be sure that the powder is very fine and mixed together well.

2. Add 1/4 cup of organic sugar to the mix and stir with a spoon.
3. Once you’ve mixed all of the ingredients together, create a mix of water and food coloring in a spray bottle and lightly mist the color onto the powder. It’s really important to mist lightly and continue stirring the powder to prevent fizzing. Continue misting the powder until it is slightly damp.

4. Once the powder has started to condense, add a few drops of essential oils. Choose your favorite, relaxing scent to enjoy. Lavender is lovely!
5. Pack the powder into an ice cube tray. It works best if the tray is bendable and the powder is packed tightly into the molds.

6. Let your bath fizzes harden for 24 hours and pop them out of the mold to enjoy!
