How to Make a Lollipop Hair Clip

When you’re finished with this lollipop clip, you’ll have an adorable piece of hair candy! Lollipop clips can be made in any flavor (um, color), and you can add small buttons or other embellishments as you wish.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 15 minutes
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
Barrette
Red grosgrain ribbon
Pink grosgrain ribbon
Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Cut both ribbons to 36″ long each. Cut another piece to about 9″, and a fourth piece the length of the barrette. Layer the two long ribbons on top of each other and fold in the middle.

2. Warm up your hot glue gun. Start rolling the ribbons from the middle as shown.

3. Continue to roll the ribbons until you reach the end. Trim the ends in staggered steps (each one shorter than the next) so they lay flat.

4. This is what the side of your circle should look like after you’ve glued all the ribbons in place.

5. Now we’ll wrap the outside of the circle with the 9″ ribbon. You’ll likely need to trim the ribbon so there’s not too much overlap.

6. Hot glue the ribbon in place on the outside.

7. Glue another piece of ribbon to the top of the barrette.

8. Glue the circle to the top of your clip, and now you have a lollipop!
