How to Make a Button Art Wall Plaque

Brighten up a little girl’s room or your crafting room with an adorable, colorful plaque! This is a quick project to make and one that your friends will appreciate receiving. The more colors of buttons you have, the merrier! This project is shown as a flower, but use your imagination to come up with other designs you can also add to these cute unfinished plaques.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 20 minutes
Age range: 8+ (may need help with hot glue gun, however)

Things you’ll need:
Unfinished wood oval sign
Buttons
3/8″ Grosgrain ribbon
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Pencil

Things to do:
1. Warm up your hot glue gun. Sort out your buttons and find a special one for the center, a few to go around it as petals, and some smaller green buttons to make up the stem. You can create a multi-colored flower or keep the colors similar – whatever your heart desires! Use a pencil to mark the location of your buttons.

2. Hot glue your buttons onto the marks you’ve made.

3. Cut the grosgrain ribbon to 12″ long. If your plaque has a wire circle on the front, thread one end of the ribbon through the hole.

4. Tie it off so it’s secure.

5. Thread it through the other side, and clip the tails of the ribbon if they’re a bit long.
