Add this 4-point flower to packages, make smaller ones in groups to glue to barrettes, or add to pinbacks and pin to your lapel or a bag that needs “sprucing.” These can be made in a variety of sizes and even shapes.
Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time to complete: 30 minutes
Age range: 10+
Things you’ll need:
Felt
Scissors
Pencil
Needle and thread
Things to do:
1. Draw a rounded triangle on your felt. To make sure it’s symmetrical, draw just one side on a fold of felt.
2. Unfold your shape to make sure it’s the size you want.
3. Trace this onto the felt three more times, and cut.
4. Thread your needle. Make sure the thread is long enough for all 4 triangles. Knot the end and create a long running stitch along the straight edge of your triangle as shown.
5. Add the other 3 triangles onto the same piece of thread.
6. Pull the end of the thread to gather all 4 pieces. Form them into a circle.
7. Tie the thread off in the back of the flower to keep the petals in place.
