Guest Post: Washi Tape

Washi Tape… washi what? Washi Tape is a re-positionable tape that has no limits to it’s usefulness. Today I’m here to share some ways you could use it in your crafting stash!

Things that you need:
Washi Tape
Ribbon
Glue Dots
Plain Frame
Glass Candle Jar
Envelope
Embellishments: Making Memories
Cardstock

Candle Jar

Things to do:
1. Wrap Washi tape around jar, making sure each strip meets together in a line going up the back.
2. Tie on ribbon
3. Cut shapes out and add embellishments using Glue Dots

Picture Frame

Things to do:
1. Lay washi tape along the inside panel on each side of a frame, cutting at an angel at the corners. (Dresses up any frame and is easy to remove as needed)

Other ideas:
Use Washi tape to dress up the back of an envelope. Lay tape across cardstock in lined up strips and then use punches or free hand cut shapes for homemade embellishments. Since Washi tape is removable and able to be used over and over, it also works well for holding dies in place when running them through a die cutting machine, or as masks to form a shape or words for painting or inking over. I would love to see what you make with your Washi or if you have any new tips you could share please leave a comment below!

Happy Crafting!
