How to Make Your Own Fairy Wand

Your little girl will love to use this fairy wand as she plays dress up! The curled ribbons, sparkly star and pretty pom poms all add to the wand’s “magic.” Though this is a project for a child, it’s best for an adult to make this (though feel free to allow her to help!).

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 20 minutes
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
Star template
Wood dowel rods
Pink curling ribbon
Red curling ribbon
Glitter foam sheet
Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Print your star from the template and cut it out. Trace onto the glitter foam and cut.

2. Curl your ribbons by running the ribbon over the edge of a pair of scissors. Each strip was can be about 18″ long or longer before curling. There are no strict rules here! Warm up your hot glue gun.

3. Tie your ribbons onto the dowel rod. Hot glue them in place.

4. Thread your needle and knot the thread at one end. Start sliding mini pom poms onto the thread.

5. Continue adding pom poms the length that you want this part of the wand decor to be.

6. Tie your pom pom tail” onto the wand and hot glue in place. Finally, hot glue the star to the top to finish the project.
