DIY Wood Burned Light Ornaments

It’s almost that time of year! Holiday decorating time! I love making all sorts of handmade ornaments for my tree, especially those with a rustic feel. These pretty little wooden light ornaments are fun to make and perfect for gifts to give to friends, family and neighbors as well as for your own tree!

Difficulty level: Moderate
Time required: 5 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Unfinished wood light bulbs
Wood burning tool and tips
Narrow silver ribbon
Scissors
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Things to do:
1. Plug in the wood burning tool with the rounded end tip inserted and allow it to warm up.

2. Holding the wood light by the screw” end, press the tip directly into the wood to create dots. You can either press lightly and quickly to make small dots or you can press more deeply and longer to create a more polka dot appearance.
3. Once you’ve dotted the ornament, cut a 5 inch length of ribbon for each ornament.

4. With the glue gun, dab a dot of glue to the top of the ornament and press the center point of the ribbon into it.
5. Once the glue dries, tie a knot about halfway up the ribbon and then tie the tails into a bow. Trim the ends as needed to finish.
