DIY Western Themed Present Topper

This simple project will teach you to create custom present toppers to take the place of traditional bows. Make several and keep them in your wrapping paper drawer so you have them on hand for birthday parties or events.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 15 Minutes
Age range: 10 and Up

Things you’ll need:
Clothespin
Cardstock tag
Cow head skull
Jute gimp trim
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Jute
Scissors
Sharpie

Things to do:
1. Measure a piece of gimp trim by placing your clothespin alongside it and marking where the end hits. Cut the ribbon accordingly.

2. Draw a line of hot glue down the center of your clothespin and place the trim on top, letting it dry completely.

3. Use hot glue to secure a cardstock tag to the end of the clothespin. I’ve found that it looks best if it’s slightly off centered.

4. Peel off the back of the buffalo skull sticker and attach it to the cardstock tag.

5. Once you’ve made the bow, it’s time to use it on a gift! Flip your gift box upside down and place it on top of a piece of jute.
6. Pull the jute up on either side and cross it in the middle.
7. Flit the box over and tie your jute in a knot. Trim any excess.
8. Pin your bow on top, add a name to the gift tag and enjoy!
