DIY Waterless Snowglobes

I live in snow country, so every Christmas, and New Years, and Valentines Day (and Easter for that matter) is a white on. But if I didn’t live where it snowed, and heck, even though I do, bringing a little of the white stuff inside helps make Christmas a little more Christmasy. Of course, you can’t really bring in snow, not unless you want puddles all over your house. But these Snow Jars are a great way to bring the look of snow inside where it’s toasty warm, and help infuse the house with holiday spirit. This is also a great kids craft because, unlike snow globes, you can add or take away things from the scene in the jar without causing a great big mess.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 5 minutes or less

Things you’ll need:
Pretty jars
Epsom Salt
Holiday ribbon
Bells, ornaments, sprigs of holly etc.

Things to do:
1. Wash and dry the jars and fill between 1/4 and 1/2 of the way up the jar with Epsom Salt.

2. Add a few little trinkets, ornaments or bits of holiday trim on top of the salt.
3. Close the jar and add a ribbon around the neck or rim. Tie off in a bow and display.
