These 3D hearts look lovely hanging on a seasonal tree or scattered on a table to celebrate love. If you’re looking for a unique, inexpensive way to decorate this Valentines Day, this is the project for you!
Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 15 minutes
Age range: 12 and up
Things you’ll need:
Red, white and pink felt
Embroidery floss
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Hot glue sticks
Needle
Flaxseeds or cotton
Things to do:
1. The first step is cutting out your heart shapes. You can either make a paper pattern and use it for all of your heart ornaments, or you can cut each heart by hand so they vary in size and shape. You need two identical hearts for every ornament you make.
2. Next, use hot glue to attach two hearts. Run the glue around the very edge of the hearts, leaving a 1-inch gap so you can fill your heart.
3. Fill the heart with flaxseeds or cotton.
4. Seal the gap with hot glue.
5. Use embroidery floss to add a decorative stitch to the outside edge of your ornament.
6. Run a piece of embroidery floss through the top center of the heart and knot it to create a hanger.
