DIY Thanksgiving Pilgrim Boat Placecards

It’s Thanksgiving time friends! Time to set the table, cook the turkey and, of course, make some cute Turkey Day placecards! These little pilgrim boats are so much fun for the kids to make and a great way to keep them busy while you are busy stuffing the bird! Make sure you use low temp glue to protect little fingers and put an older, responsible child or a spare adult in charge of the glue gun.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 15 minutes per boat

Things you’ll need:
Dark brown craft foam
Light brown or white craft foam
Marker
Template
Scissors
Dowel rods
Glue

Things to do:
1. Using the template, cut out the boat base from the dark brown foam. One for each place card.

2. Fold the boat piece in half and glue along the side edges, pressing the edges together to form a three-dimensional boat.

3. Cut out one square per boat to make sails. Write the name of each guest on a sail.

4. Run the skewer through the sail at top and bottom.

5. Squirt a pool of glue into the bottom of the boat and stick the end of the skewer into it, set it somewhere to dry so that the sail is upright while the glue dries.
6. Once the glue is dry, trim the skewer near the top of the sail.
