DIY Rainbow Stripe Runner

Normally I’m a neutral color kind of gal. It probably explains my love for burlap, all things burlap. But now and then I need a pop of color and this project combines the two, a little neutral (and burlap) and a lot of color. It’s best to use either fabric paint or acrylic craft paint mixed with a fabric medium so that the paint is machine washable, but you can use straight acrylic paint if you plan to spot clean your runner.

Things you’ll need:
Acrylic Paint + Fabric Medium or Fabric Paint
Burlap Table Runner
Painters Tape
Foam Paintbrushes
Freezer Paper

Things to do:
1. On a long, flat surface, roll our your freezer paper, shiny side up, and tape it down at the ends.
2. Lay the runner out onto the paper and apply strips of tape across it at uneven intervals.

3. With a tapping motion, sponge on paint, making sure that one color doesn’t go right next to another stripe of the same.

4. Allow the paint to dry before removing the tape. Press with a warm iron or as directed by the paint instructions.
