DIY Party Mini Bunting Tutorial

This adorable banner is perfect for decorating homemade cakes or adorning blank gift cards. Write messages on the flags, or leave them blank for a rustic feel. Make several and keep them on hand so you can customize them when something comes up.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 10 Minutes
Age range: 8 and Up

Things you’ll need:
Jute
Washi tape
Scissors
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Straws

Things to do:
1. First, you’re going to cut a piece of jute. It can be as long or short as you want.

2. Fold a 2-inch piece of Washi tape in half over the jute, creating a rectangle shape. Repeat this step until you’ve covered the entire length of your banner with flags.

3. Trim any excess Washi tape off of the ends of the flags and cut a triangle out of the bottom.

4. Once you’ve finished decorating your banner, tie a bow at the end of the jute.
5. Cut a decorative straw in half and use hot glue to attach the bows to the top of the straw halves. Now you’ve got a finished mini banner!
