DIY Lace Bowl

This pretty and delicate bowl uses the beauty of lace to add a simple but effective decoration to a basic clay bowl. Perfect for gifts or just for a little something charming on your dresser.

Things you’ll need:
Air-dry clay
Lace
Rolling pin
Wax paper
Plastic wrap
Bowl

Things to do:
1. Roll the clay out between layers of wax paper to between 1/8 and 1/4 inch thick.

2. Lay the lace onto the clay and roll gently but evenly to imprint the pattern onto the clay.

3. Cut a circle, you can use the bowl as a guide, from the clay.
4. Wrap the bowl with plastic wrap then carefully press the clay circle into the bowl to form the rounded shape.

5. Allow the clay to dry thoroughly. This can be left as is or sealed with gloss Mod Podge or Polyurethane for a shiny finish.

    1. We used air dry clay. You can find it at any superstore or there are recipes where you can make your own. We made ours with 1 cup water, 3 cups salt, and 1 cup cornstarch. You first mix the water and salt together then place in a pan over a medium heat. You then gradually add in your cornstarch and heat it until your mixture thickens. Cool the clay before kneading and sculpting into the shape(s) you desire. Let me know if you have any other questions and happy crafting!
