DIY Easter Paint Can Party Favor

I am in love with these little paint cans! They are perfect for any DIY project – think party favors, gifts, and centerpieces! The possibilities for creativity are endless here. Today I am using the empty paint cans to create an Easter centerpiece. How cute would a collection of these look on your Easter table or mantel?

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 10 minutes
Age range: Any age, please just allow adults to handle E6000 glue.

Things you will need:
Clear Paint Can
Miniature Yellow Flocked Ducklings
Assorted Pastel Craft Pom Poms (optional)
Scrapbook paper
Scissors
White E6000 Glue

Things to do:
1. Quick little tip to get started. These little paint cans lids seal tightly to the can. The quickest way to open them is with a coin or washer.

2. Cut out a circle to line the inside bottom of the paint can. I used gift wrap paper, but you can use any scrapbook paper or decorative paper that you like. The paint cans are 2 3/4″ in diameter, so a 2.5″ circle should fit nicely inside. I traced the bottom of the can onto my paper and then trimmed the edges to make it fit snugly inside.

If you would also like to line the top of the paint can lid with the same paper, punch out or cut out a 2″ circle also at this time. If you are lining the lid, attach paper with a small drop of E6000 glue. There is no need to glue the bottom lining to the can.

3. Use E6000 glue to attach the flocked duckling directly to the paint lid can (or to the 2″ circle scrapbook paper lining on your paint can). I tried it both ways and found I preferred the look of the paper lining on top. Allow 1 hr for drying time.

4. Your Easter paint can should now look like this.

5. Fill the Easter paint can with pom poms, Easter eggs, craft supplies, grass, or flowers.
