DIY Dyed Doilies

Doilies are pretty and handy but they are also generally just one color, white. And while white is fine for some things, it’s not perfect for some things. That’s where a simple dye job comes in handy. If you’d like to turn some simple paper doilies into something a little more colorful, this project is for you.

Things you’ll need:

Paper doilies

Water
Paper towels
Food coloring
Bowl

Things to do:
1. Fill a bowl 1/3 of the way up with water and mix in several drops of food coloring. You’ll want the color darker than you think.

2. Dip the doilies into the dyed water one at a time, letting them sink down a little.

3. Allow them to soak in the colored water for about five minutes.
4. Pull them out in a stack to help keep the paper form tearing and gently pull them apart, spreading them out onto paper towels to dry. Flip them over a few times to help them dry.
