DIY Decoupage Easter Eggs

These decorative eggs are so easy to make and look adorable on display. Have fun experimenting with a variety of patterned paper, creating a collection of festive decor.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 15 Minutes
Age range: 8 and Up

Things you’ll need:
Paper
Mod Podge
Wax Paper
Scissors
Styrofoam eggs
Hemp twine or rick rack ribbon
Paintbrush

Things to do:
1. Cut strips of paper to decorate the egg with. For this tutorial, I’ve chosen to use music paper. Measure the size of the egg to determine how long to cut the strips of paper. My foam eggs are 3 1/2″.
2. Use a paintbrush and cover the surface of the egg with Mod Podge.

3. Lay the strip of paper onto the Mod Podge covered egg and apply a second layer of Mod Podge over the top to secure it.

4. Continue this process until the entire surface of the egg is covered.

5. Allow the egg to dry and then apply a second layer of Mod Podge over the surface of the egg. This will add shine and secure the paper.

6. Once you’re happy with the look, tie a piece of hemp cord or ribbon around the outside of the egg and display it in an Easter basket.
