Spread some cheer this season with this simple-to-make ribbon sculpture of gift packages on a barrette. This Christmas present barrette can be personalized many different ways, depending on what the girl who wears it will prefer!

Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time required: 30 minutes
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
Metal barrette
Red and green grosgrain ribbon or other colors of your choice
Scissors
Hot glue gun and hot glue sticks
Button or other embellishment

Things to do:
1. Warm up your hot glue gun. Cut a piece of narrow ribbon and cover the barrette.

2. Cut a piece of medium-width ribbon to 3 inches long.

3. Fold the ribbon to find the center.

4. Fold the ends toward the center and glue.

5. Fold in half again and glue together.

6. Cut a piece of narrow ribbon in half lengthwise.

7. Glue onto the ribbon square as shown.

8. Make a second package out of a 4″ piece of ribbon, folding and gluing as before.

9. Cut another piece of narrow ribbon in half lengthwise and glue onto the larger package piece. Glue both packages onto the barrette. Add a button or other embellishment for added cuteness!
