DIY Chalk Cheese Picks

Cheese plates are a standard at parties, big and small, and while it’s fun to be surprised when trying out cheeses, it’s also nice to know just what it is your are taking a wedge of! These cheese picks are straight-forward to make, reusable, and elegant, perfect for any occasion where a cheese platter comes into play.

Difficulty level: Moderate
Time required: 15 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Thick skewers or thin dowels
Coping saw
Mini Metal Chalkboards
Chalkboard Ink Pen
Superglue
Sandpaper

Things to do:
1. Cut the skewer or dowels into four inch sections using the saw. If desired, sand the tips into a slight point if using dowels.

2. Sand the cut ends of the dowels or skewers until smooth.
3. Apply a bead of glue down the back of each tag and press a dowel into place.

4. Once the glue is dry, write the name of each type of cheese onto the tag with Chalkboard Ink. Using the pen instead of standard chalk ensures that the sign won’t wipe off before the end of the party or drop chalk dust onto your cheese.
5. Once the party is over, simply wipe the ink away with a wet towel and leave to dry, ready for another cheese plate!
