DIY Candy Christmas Tree Count Down


This Christmas countdown is the perfect way to get everyone excited for the holidays! Kids will love counting down the days with candy, as they keep track of the time left ’til Christmas.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 10 Minutes
Age range: 8 and Up

Things you’ll need:
Brown, Green and Red Paper
Plastic Wrap
Ribbon
Star Stickers
Hole Punch
Ruler
Candy
Glue
Stapler

Things to do:
1. Create a triangle pattern, following the information providing in the photograph. Trace and cut out the triangle pattern, onto you piece of green paper.

2. Punch a hole at the top of the green triangle and place a star sticker above the hole punch.
3. Use the hole punch and punch about eight circles from the red paper and use the punched out circles to decorate the green triangle, just like a Christmas tree.

4. Cut out a 1inch x 1 1/4 inch rectangle out of brown paper and attach it to the bottom of the green triangle with glue, just like a tree trunk.

5. Cut out a tag that is 2 inches x 1inch. You can use red or green paper. On this tag, write 10 Days “Til Christmas!” and punch a hole at the top.
6. Use ribbon to attach this tag to the green tree.

7. Place a row of 10 pieces of candy on a 3ft. piece of plastic wrap. Wrap the candy and use the ribbon to tie a bow between each piece of candy.

8. Staple the plastic wrap row of candies to the bottom of the tree, just above the trunk.

9. Tie a loop of ribbon to the top of the tree, through the hole punch, to create a hanger for your countdown.
