DIY Blooming Tree Branches

The sun is starting to peek through the clouds and the birds are singing. Yes, it’s almost springtime! In preparation for this sweet season, we’re experimenting with blooming branches. This DIY will bring nature indoors, making your house a spring haven.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 30 Minutes
Age range: 10 and Up

Things you’ll need:
Branches
Assorted paper
Jute
Scissors
Pen
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Things to do:
1. The first step is making a heart pattern. The easiest way to do this is to fold a piece of paper in half and cut half of a heart shape. Unfold it, and you’ll be left with a perfect pattern!

2. Once you’ve cut out your pattern, you’ll want to trace it onto several different kinds of paper. Cut the same number of hearts out of each different piece of paper.

3. Fold the heart shapes in half, using the handle of your scissors to make a sharp crease.
4. Run a line of hot glue down the crease.

5. Attach the heart to the branch.

6. Repeat these steps until the entire branch is covered in blooming hearts.
7. Use jute to tie a decorative bow on the branch.
