DIY Alphabet Card Banner

When my kids were little I had alphabet cards all over the house to help them learn their ABC’s but now that they are older the cards are stowed away in drawers and books rule the day. Instead of letting those cards lie unused, however, I’ve given them new life as little mini banners, such as this bookshelf beauty reminding them to always READ!

Time required: 10 minutes
Difficulty level: Easy

Things you’ll need:
Alphabet cards
Sewing machine and thread
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Sort through your cards and use the letters to spell out whatever word you want your banner to say.

2. Pull some excess thread out from your machine to create a tail.
3. Stitch along the top edge of the cards in order and pull out more excess thread at the end. Cut the threads.

4. Tie off the threads about an inch from the cards and trim away excess.

5. Hang the banner from pins or hooks and enjoy!
