Color Block Gold Bead Necklace

Holiday party season is coming up fast and if you are anything like me, you’re always looking for a little something extra to add to that standard holiday outfit. A little sparkle or shine to dress up your standards. Something that says holiday without being a light up Santa sweatshirt. Right? Well look no further. These Color Block Gold Beads make a glitzy, modern necklace in a flash that will have folks wondering where you picked up such a fabulous piece of jewelry. Here we’ve strung them on a seed bead necklace but this also looks great on a standard gold chain.

Difficulty level: easy to moderate
Time required: 20 minutes plus dry time

Things you’ll need:
Red wooden beads
Gold craft paint
Masking tape
String or chain
Paint brush

Things to do:
1. Using your tape, mask off half of each bead, completely covering one open end and leaving the other open. Smooth the edges down well to avoid paint seepage.

2. Paint the exposed half of the bead with several thin coats of gold paint, allowing each layer to dry before adding the next.

3. Once the beads are dry, string them onto your chain, ribbon or string with the colors alternating so that golds and reds touch.
