Coffee filters are made from a special kind of paper that has the unique ability to dissipate liquid, and color, through the paper in a tie-die kind of way! This makes them perfect for some fun tie die hearts this Valentine’s Day! This project is perfect for keeping little fingers happy and they’ll love to watch the colors move and change as the combination of markers, paper and water do their trick!
Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 10 minutes plus dry time
Things you’ll need:
Water soluble markers
Coffee filters
Scissors
Spray bottle and water
Things to do:
1. Flatten out several coffee filters and fold them in half. Using your scissors, cut out large hearts from the filter.
2. Open the hearts up and allow your children to color with makers all over the paper.
3. Once they are done, let them lightly spray the paper with water. Set the hearts on a flat surface and watch the colors move and blend then leave them out to dry before displaying.
