Clothespin Ribbon Storage

I have a wide variety of ribbon in my craft cupboard. In fact, I probably have too many kinds of ribbon, I certainly have too many spools all crammed into a box. My ribbon box is generally overflowing out of it’s top and I’ve been known to accidentally store an empty spool (or three) in the box without realizing it. Part of the problem, I’ve decided, is that the spools take up more room than the ribbon, and a box full of them is a little inefficient in the way of storage. So this is perfect for me, away with the spools and in come the clothespins. Smaller, reusable and much more efficient, it’s also a pretty way to store all that ribbon (because I couldn’t possibly stop buying ribbon! You can never have too much ribbon!)

Time to complete: less than 5 minutes (but more depending on how much ribbon you have)
Difficulty level: Beginner

Things you’ll need:
Clothespins
Ribbon
Sewing pins

Things to do:
1. Secure the end of the ribbon between the two ends of a clothespin and start winding the ribbon around it.

2. Continue winding until the ribbon is off the spool and secure the end with a pin, pushing it though the end and into the bulk of the ribbon.
