DIY Americana Flag Mason Jar Luminary

Wave your flag proudly – or in this case, display it and allow it to glow with American pride! You can line your walkway with these patriotic flag luminaries or display them on your table or book shelf during our biggest summer holiday!

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 1-2 hours (includes drying time)
Age range: 8+

Things you’ll need:
Small American flag
Pint mason jar
Mod Podge
Foam brush
Flickering tea light
Scissors

Things to do:
1. Cut the flag off the stick.

2. Check the width of the flag and trim it slightly if necessary, so that it fits nicely on the jar. I know that it feels weird to trim the flag, but you’ll probably just need to trim it 1/8″ to 1/16″, if at all.

3. Spread Mod Podge on the jar and glue the flag down. Once dry, add Mod Podge to the top of the flag.

4. Turn on your luminary and add it to the jar!

DIY Glitter Fireworks Greeting Card

Cut a square out of black card stock and decorate with this beautiful glitter fireworks display. You can decorate a card, scrapbook page, or other item for any celebration. This is a project that turns out beautifully every time!

Difficulty level: Easy
Time to complete: 1 hour (includes drying time)
Age range: 10+

Things you’ll need:
Extra fine silver glitter
Red glitter
Elmer’s all-purpose glue
Scissors
Black card stock
Pencil
Newspaper

Things to do:
1. Cut your black card stock into the shape you desire. With your glue, create a fireworks shape as shown here. Note that the top sparks are shorter than the lower ones, adding to a realistic effect. If needed, draw with a pencil first.

2. Spread out a piece of newspaper. Shake both colors of glitter on different parts of the card, making sure to cover the glue.

3. Allow to dry for about an hour. Shake off the excess glitter.
