Give Yourself (or Someone Else) a Medal!

Sometimes, you just deserve a medal! Give yourself, or someone you know, one of these little felt medals and brighten up a dull kind of day! These would also make cute additions to costumes or the dress up bin!

Things you’ll need:
Felt in three or four colors
Broach pins
Scissors
Pinking shears
Pencil
Craft Glue

Things to do:
1. Cut 1/2 -3/4 inch wide strips of felt with the pinking shears.

2. Trace or freehand cut circles and/or scalloped circles out of the felt for the medals. You’ll want these to have about an 1 1/2 inch diameter.

3. Cut a backing for the medals just slightly narrower than the circles and narrowing to a point at one end.

4. Glue the pinked strips in alternating colors and overlapping onto the backing, starting at the narrow end and working up. Trim away the excess.

5. Attach the “Medal” to the narrow end of the backing, either under or over the bottom layer of pinked felt. Allow the glue to dry.
6. Flip the medals over and glue the broach pin to the back near the top of the backing. Allow the glue to dry thoroughly before wearing.
