DIY Felt Flower Hair Clip Tutorial


Create beautiful blooms to dress up your hair with this simple tutorial. Kids love to mix and match the colors to create a custom clip for themselves. Let them cut out the shapes and help them use the glue gun to make a beautiful accessory.

Things you’ll need:
Hair barrettes
Felt sheets
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Scissors
Marker

Things to do:
1. The first step is creating the felt shapes. Use a marker to draw a petal pattern and leaf pattern.


2. Trace the patterns onto the felt sheets and cut them out.


3. Cut out a half-inch piece of felt that’s about 4-inches long.

4. Roll the felt strip up and secure the end with hot glue. This will become the center of the flower.

5. Use hot glue to attach the flower petals to the rolled felt, creating a 3D bloom.


6. Glue the leaves to your metal hair clip. Vary the positioning of the leaves, creating a more natural look.



7. Glue your flower to the metal hair clip.

8. Allow time to dry before wearing.

How to Make a Boxwood Wreath


Put away your wire and grab your hot glue gun! This DIY will save you time and trouble, making it easy to create a gorgeous boxwood wreath in no time at all.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 20 Minutes
Age range: 12 and Up

Things you’ll need:
Moss
Styrofoam wreath form
Artificial boxwood picks
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Wire cutters

Things to do:
1. The first step is covering the wreath form in moss. This will make the wreath appear thicker and fuller, hiding all the white Styrofoam.


2. Trim the stems on your boxwood so they’re about 1-inch long.
3. Push the boxwood stems through the wreath form. Trim any excess wire.
3. Continue poking boxwood pieces into the Styrofoam until the entire wreath is covered.
