Book Page Christmas Tree Centerpiece Tutorial

This festive craft is perfect for the holiday season! Make several trees in different sizes and use them as a centerpiece, or make small trees and incorporate them into your ceramic Christmas village. However you choose to use these trees, they’re sure to be a hit this holiday season!

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time to complete: 45 Minutes
Age range: 12 and Up

Things you’ll need:
Books pages
Styrofoam cone
Craft glue
Gold glitter
Scissors
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Small birch slice

Things to do:
1. The first step is cutting out the leaves or branches for the tree. Start by tearing out a page from an old book and folding it in half. Cut half oval shapes on the fold. The leaves should be roughly the same size, but don’t have to be exactly the same.

2. The next step is gluing the leaves to the Styrofoam cone. Put hot glue on the top 1/2 inch of the leaf down the fold and attach it to the top of the cone. Continue gluing leaves until you’ve covered the top of the cone.

3. Once you’ve created a top layer, use a drop of hot glue to bring the leaves together, creating a point, or top of your tree.

4. Continue gluing leaves onto the Styrofoam cone until the entire surface is covered.

5. Use hot glue to secure the birch wood slice to the bottom of the Styrofoam cone, creating a trunk.

6. Once you’ve finished your tree, add glitter accents to the edges of the branches with tack glue.
