Adjustable Ribbon and Felt Crown

Perfect for your little prince or princess on their special day, these crowns are simple and quick enough to make that you could hand them out to the whole crowd at your party. With a ribbon tie, they fit almost anyone without the need for taking measurements. Easy and fun!

Difficulty level: Easy to moderate, requires use of sewing machine
Time required: 15 minutes

Things you’ll need:
Lavender felt (or any other colors of your choice), two sheets per crown
Ribbon, 1 inch wide at least
Sewing machine
Scissors
Thread

Things to do:
1. Fold one piece of felt in half and, using your scissors, cut a half of a crown shape on the fold to create a symmetrical crown.

2. Use the first crown cut-out as a template to cut an identical shape from the second sheet of felt.

3. Using your sewing machine, sandwich the two crowns together and sew all the way around with a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

4. Cut a piece of ribbon twice as long as you need to go around a person’s head.
5. Center the ribbon on the crown so that you have even tails on each end and about 1 inch of felt between the bottom edge of the crown and the ribbon.
6. Stitch along the top edge of the ribbon where it was layered over the crown. When you reach the end, turn the fabric, stitch across the width of the ribbon. Turn again and stitch along the bottom edge of the ribbon. Finish by stitch up across the ribbon to meet the place where you began. Trim away all threads before wearing.
