Preppy Stripe ‘To Do’ Clip Board

A little paint can brighten up anything. This tutorial is showing you how to personalized a blank clip board to fit your own personality. Use your newly personalized clipboard to hang pictures or write your to-do lists.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Time required: 15 minutes
Age range: Any age

Things you’ll need:
Foam brush
Small unfinished clipboard
Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint (I used Caribbean and Mango)
Painters Tape
Acrylic Sealer

Things to do:
1. To create a stripe pattern on your clipboard, place 4 pieces of painters tape on your clipboard.

2. Pull off every other piece of tape. This is an easy way to maintain the correct angle you are trying to create without having to find a ruler. Press edges of tape down with your fingernail so the tape is firmly in place. This will help you create a nice straight edge when you paint.

3. Paint stripes between the pieces of tape, alternating colors. Make sure to paint all the way to the edge of your tape.

4. Once the paint is dry (about 10 minutes), remove the tape carefully and slowly. You will now have a fun stripe pattern on your clipboard! You can also seal your paint with an acrylic sealer if desired.
5. Use clipboard anyway you like– consider hanging on a wall as a picture frame. The clipboard comes with a wall hanger attached to the back. Or adding a magnet and hanging it on your refrigerator. Or just clip blank paper to it and use for your daily to-do lists!
