DIY Globe Inspired Easter Eggs

You really can have the whole world in your hands with this Easter craft. It looks difficult, but you will find it’s pretty simple and requires only a few materials to create this wood egg Easter globe. I have given many as gifts and have even personalized them further by adding a heart to specific locations (such as on a favorite city, vacation spot, or home town).

Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time required: 1 hr
Age range: 10 and up, depending on painting skills

Things you’ll need:
Pencil
Small paint brushes
Flat Bottom Unfinished Wooden Eggs
Caribbean Blue Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint
Leaf Green Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint
Folk Art Matte Acrylic Sealer (glossy works also if you prefer a shiny look

Things to do:
1. Trace world map on to the wood egg. I had a world map handy as reference while drawing. You can make this map as general or precise as you desire. The egg globe will look great either way.

2. Use a very small paintbrush to paint the countries green. Allow 20 minutes to dry.

3. Use a slightly larger paint brush to fill in the water areas with blue, including the bottom of the egg. Allow 20 minutes to completely dry.

4. Touch up any areas that might need a second coat of paint. Let dry overnight.
5. In a well ventilated area, place your egg on newspaper and spray acrylic sealer to the egg. This will protect and seal your paint.
