Kid-Friendly String and Glue Spiderweb

This is the perfect craft for a rainy fall afternoon with the kids and a great DIY Halloween decoration to hang around the house to add a little creepiness to your decor. Here we have left the string as is but you can also spray paint the finished product wild colors or paint with glow in the dark paint for an even wilder look!

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 15 minutes plus dry time

Things you’ll need:
Wax paper
Craft glue
Yarn, string or butchers twine
Scissors
Masking tape

Things to do:
1. Lay out an approximately 20 inch piece of wax paper on your work surface and tape the ends down with masking tape.
2. Squeeze out a pool of glue near one end, this will be your working area.

3. Cut 6 pieces of string about 12 inches long and one more piece about 20 inches long.

4. Dip one of the shorter pieces of string into the glue and then squeeze off the extra.

5. Lay the string out on your wax paper. Repeat with another piece, laying it to for an X” with the first. Continue to add the longer pieces to form the base of the web.

6. Once you have the basic web structure, dip the long piece of string into the glue, squeeze out the excess and, starting at the center point of the web, lay the string in a spiral, working away from the center.
7. Allow the string to dry completely before removing from the wax paper and hanging.
