Paracord Techniques: How to do a Stitched Solomon Bar

This two color knot is striking and strong, with one color more dominant than the other. The “bar” color, here the blue, will need to be a little more than twice the length of the finished piece you are after and the wrapping color, here the white, around four times that length.

Difficulty level: Easy
Time required: 15 minutes

Things you need:
Navy blue and white parachute cord – or other colors of your choice

Things to do:
1. Fold the bar color in half and lay over the “wrap” color.

2. Fold the right leg of the wrap color over the top of the bar legs and under the left wrap leg.

3. Thread the left wrap leg under the bar legs and out through the loop created by the right wrap.

4. Pull the wrap legs to tighten. The knot will lie on the left side of the bar legs.

5. Bring the left wrap leg under the first bar leg and over the second.

6. Bring the right wrap leg over the tail of the left, under the two bar legs and out through the loop created by the left wrap.

7. Pull to tighten, the knot will lie on the right hand side of the bar.

8. Bring the right hand wrap under the first bar leg and over the second.

9. Thread the left wrap leg under the two bar legs and out through the loop created by the right wrap. Pull to tighten, the knot will lie on the left hand side of the bar legs.

10. Repeat the process until you have reached the length you desire.
