Floral wire is a basic floral supply that is needed to create beautiful floral arrangements, wreaths, and more. This wire is made of green plastic covered aluminum, which is strong enough for bigger projects, but light enough for more delicate projects. Floral wire can be used with a variety of real or artificial flowers, foliage, greenery, or even dried flowers to strengthen and lengthen stems. It can easily be wrapped around your stems and then be covered with floral tape. You can split the stems and use the wire to attach flower parts, such as, leaves to the stems. It can even be useful to attach bows onto your arrangements, or to fasten greenery, cones, or other objects to wreaths and forms. This wire is very useful to many other projects other than floral arranging and can even be used for projects around the home or office.

This wire is wrapped in cloth is more aesthetically pleasing and is usually wrapped around stems to complete bouquets, corsages, and centerpieces. Cloth covered wire can be especially useful when creating royal icing flowers for cake decorations and act as stems!

Wire diameter is measured in gauges. The key is to remember the larger the gauge, the thinner and more manageable the wire.
