The Three Wise Monkeys are legendary and popular totems recognized all over the world. Seen on many shrines, they are a significant part of Asian culture and have rooted meanings in China, India, and Japan. There is lack of clarity about their explicit origin, and their precise meaning and translation is slightly controversial, but vaguely, they represent fighting the temptation of "evils" in order to find peace within oneself.

This dense, interestingly textured figurine is known to be named Minazaru, as he covers his eyes to "see no evil." His kind smile matches the shape of his long, deep red, oblong face. Browns, yellows, and hints of copper splotch and blend together to produce his fur. Shiny metallic silver segments enrich his arms, legs, and tail. His long feet are cutely crossed.

Present him on your desk, end table, window sill, mantlepiece, or kitchen counter on his own, or collect his other two messengers of tranquility, and bestow their mindful wisdom in your home.

How do you translate "seeing no evil?" How can you act on Minazaru's theme in your everyday life?

Made of resin.
