Eden "The wood the forks are made of is a bit too soft. It is the usual soft wood most wooden spoons are made of, but because of the thinness of the tines, and the unsanded cuts between the tines, they need sanding down or they chip off easy. They are fine once they are sanded down a tiny bit, but they do take a quick bit of work if you dont want the pieces in your food the first time you use them. Both pieces need a bit of light sanding if you want them looking more elegant to give away. "
