Getting ready for a wedding… trying to decide on flowers? Pretty ‘n’ Silk can make those floral decisions less stressful and help you create all the floral arrangements you need for a picture perfect wedding.
Not a lot of experience with florals? Don’t worry… the designs shown are easy to make and basic directions for choosing a bouquet shape, selecting silk flowers and working with them are included. Supply lists not only include specific flowers used, but also flower types which provide guidance should you decide to change some flowers and/or the colors of an arrangement.
Five floral themes are presented covering a wide range of styles from summer splendor with its bright, brilliant colors to exotic calla lily with its simplicity and elegance. Other themes include Pretty in Pink with festive pink peonies and purple lilacs, Garden Meadow featuring lovely blue hydrangeas, and Rose Garden for a classic, romantic look.
Each theme includes a bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquet, boutonnières, and centerpiece. There are also directions for creating flower girl baskets, corsages, a ring bearer’s pillow, a bouquet display vase, a unity candle, toasting flutes, and pew decorations scattered among the various themes.
Author Ed Smith is a free-lance florist, artist, instructor and designer with a BS and an MA in art education. He has several books to his credit as well as over 200 designs that have been published in magazines, on web sites and as project sheets.
